Name: Alice
Canon: Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward

Info links: Have some TV tropes and She appears on the character page too
Canon Point: Post Alternative – end (or the second End or Beginning?)
Gender & Sex: Female and female
Age: Unknown, though she is well over 18. Likely in her mid to upper 20s.
Birthdate/Sign: September 7 - Virgo: I chose Virgo for Alice because I felt the qualities of Virgo fit her personality the best of all the signs. Alice is very witty and charming (including physically charming), as well as being organized and dedicated, considering she is a leading authority in an anti-terrorist organization. She may not be terribly warm or sympathetic, however on the inside, we discover that she really is, she just doesn’t know how to show it. She shows concern for her subordinates by being that stoic role model, while being maternal for them on the inside.

As for physically sensual, well, she sure isn’t afraid to show off her body, but never ever does she use her sexuality to seduce someone. She just knows she’s a beautiful woman.

For her weaknesses, they hit her right on the dot. Cranky as all hell when things go wrong as she goes off, yelling at someone who betrayed her, or yelling at someone who is giving her heat for her betraying someone. Prudish because she wants to wear all the beautiful clothing (you can laugh when she says she wants beautiful shirts…). She’s also dogmatic as her opinions are the ones everyone goes by when they need to choose the next set of doors (I’m not going with Dio, I don’t trust him). Same goes for eccentric and irritable for the same reasons. She can be a little overbearing, but not to the point of over-demanding (though she can be when put under quite a bit of pressure) and as for the scathing criticism, well, she can certainly dish is out if she needs to.

All in all, I found Virgo fit her quite perfectly.
Tattoo: On her right hip, size of her palm and peeking up from her skirt just a bit

THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THE PERSONALITY SECTION FOR ALL OF VIRTUE'S LAST REWARD. DO NOT READ IF YOU WISH NOT TO BE SPOILED

Alice is a beautiful woman. Half-Egyptian and half-French, it’s apparent she got the best of both worlds in her appearance. She dresses just as exotic as she appears, exclaiming, “the less she looks like her job, the better.” Of course, that doesn’t answer why she has an aversion to bras and shirts, but why would she hide such a lovely figure? She has beautiful, flawless skin, a figure to make girl’s jealous and boys fawn over her, and a sultry voice that says ‘come hither’ without her actually saying so. One would expect her to be selfish and arrogant just by her looks, and she is, but she’s also kind and caring, perhaps one of the more caring of the group that got kidnapped.

On the outside, Alice is stoic and strong. She smiles and speaks in a calm manner, even in a situation where it’s obvious they’ve been kidnapped. But with that said, she’s usually the first one to snap. If you betray her, she will smack both you and Phi and wonder what the fuck is wrong with you. Though if she betrays you and you ally, she will call you naïve for believing in her. In that sense, she’s rather narcissistic, always looking out for herself, and her subordinate, Clover. Thrown into a game of trust, she doesn’t really trust anyone, aside from Clover. Even then, it works against her, when K forcefully choses 'betray' when he was paired with Clover. She also allies with Quark and Dio, believing Quark to be a trustworthy child, only to get betrayed, and that makes her rather mad as well. Though Quark explains he had no intentions of betraying her, making Dio an early enemy of hers. In many paths, she exclaims that she refuses to go with Dio because of that betrayal, acting like a child because her trust was destroyed. She also refuses to go with K in the paths he betrays her. That also goes for the path that Sigma betrays her. Once her trust in you is lost, it’s impossible to gain it back. Still, she’s one to find out the truth and figure out who betrayed her. So instead of not trusting a pair of people, she knows exactly which person decided she wasn’t trustworthy. Using such logic, she can easily figure out who to trust and who to not trust. She can also analyze other groups and see just who is trustworthy and who is not based on their decisions. Such as Luna. She appears to want everyone to escape, always choosing 'ally' as well as having such a calm and kind manners. Also Tenmyouji, who seems to trust Clover, though she doesn't have the slightest clue as to why he would.

At one point Tenmyouji asks Alice if the water in her body was Ice-9, which causes her to erupt in laughter. How silly for anyone to think she was a mummy from some fable (and for the record, she is not the Alice from that fable). True, she hitched a ride after being stuck in the Nevada desert on November 1, 2027, but that was because her car broke down. It does seem mighty suspicious, however only a fool would believe such a tale. Though it does amuse her that someone actually believed she would 'stay frozen' at well above room temperature.

In her own ending, she betrays Sigma and Phi, and betrays Sigma again. If Sigma had chosen ally, it would have meant his death since his BP would have been 0 or lower. Only she and one other person in the group would have stooped so low to kill another to get out of the game. But it’s revealed that she was scared and she wasn’t thinking properly. Knowing that they could be killed any moment, knowing that she had just been infected with Radical-6 and nearly committed suicide, it scared her. It amazed her that Sigma had decided to confront her after she nearly killed him (he chose betray, even though Alice should have automatically allied. Any normal person would have allied since betraying a person who can’t play the AB game is considered a low move. She made a low move herself, betraying someone who should have chosen ally, and she recognizes her low blow once she’s confronted). It’s the only time we finally see her cry in the game. Alice is a strong woman, but even so, she has pent up emotions and needs to cry. Her father was kidnapped when she was young by a terrorist organization, thus only being raised by her mother. This had influenced her a lot, and made her want to go out and find her father, even if her mother had obviously not wanted her to do that.

Despite her looks, Alice is insanely smart. Mathematics is her strongest field – 7815361098838094241990551 – well prime factor decomposition gets you 198449351 to the third power. Duh! Simple mental arithmetic! She admits she’s “better at math than most people”. Then again, it’s thanks to such math skills that she was able to get a scholarship to a good college and eventually recruited by an anti-terrorist organization, the SOIS. Such determination is what got her into college and into the anti-terrorist organization as she wanted to find her father. He was her motivation and even she found him dead, she realized she had to go on.

It’s in fact the state she found him in that caused her to go on. On his arm was etched the coordinates to the head base of Free the Soul, and across his chest were these words “I love you Alice.” She cried, thinking she was weak and she never wanted have Clover see her this weak. But we find out in Clover’s ending, that Clover thought she was so cool and stoic. She never saw her break down, or saw fear in her eyes. That is how Alice intimidates her enemy. After all, they’ve taken so much away from her that she can’t lose now. She doesn’t want to lose now. Even in the midst of the nonary game, she tries her best to think what she must do to win. Of course, that doesn’t mean she wants to be the enemy.

It’s easy to see that she wants to be trusted, but such trust is rarely reciprocated given the nature of the Nonary game. However, in her field, she excepts to be fully trusted by her subordinates, since she is the won leading them to success.

When not provoked or feeling like she’s going to be in danger, she’s a rather easy and calm woman to talk to. It’s obvious she has a mysterious charm about her and a maturity, despite her teasing at times. She’s playful, and honestly just wants the good guys to win. We see this once she finds out who set up the bombs in Rhizome-9, and that her goal is to ultimately defeat Dio. She’s also thankful to those that gave her the injection of Axelivir to save her life (since as mentioned in her ending, she was quite scared).

In the Alternate End, Alice is quite disconcerted at the fact she’s slept for 45 years. Was she pronounced dead? Did anyone worry over her? Of course she remains calm, but it’s obvious she’s upset at what Akane and Sigma did to her. Of course, she was also given the promise that she could go back in time without creating a paradox. It’s perhaps because she believes in Akane’s words that she can remain so calm.

All in all, when not put in a situation where she’s forced to trust someone, she’s a rather calm and mature woman. She thinks things through and possibly shows off some of her training of being an anti-terrorist agent when she really needs to (such as pinning Dio to the ground and threatening to break his arm. He’s in a lot of pain when she has him pinned). She’s smart, beautiful, everything everyone would want in one package aside from some daddy issues, though it’s understandable why she would have them. Even then, she uses that to motivate her. The only time she snaps is when she’s scared – meaning her trust has been broken or she thinks she’s going to die, in which her fight or flight takes over and she’s, well, ready to put up a fight.

You wouldn’t like Alice when she’s mad…
✖ SAMPLES:
"Zodion" First-Person Network Entry:

[Alice greets her audience with a genteel smile, appearing calm, but also very welcoming.]

I didn’t quite expect such a lively city here. Well, I suppose it’s better than a lot of other situations, but I can’t say I exactly want to cooperate. Though I guess we don’t really have much of a choice. If the Twelve went so far to put these marks on us, then they must have a reason for them.

[She sighs, this bringing back far too fresh memories. She can only pray they don’t inject an anesthetic and a muscle relaxant. Though, an aphrodisiac she can handle. It just means she doesn’t die. It doesn’t mean she likes it.]

While I’m honored the Twelve would choose such a beautiful woman as myself, I don’t really want to participate in such activities. [She smiles again, almost too calm.] But this is the part where you all tell me I don’t have a choice, right?

Now tell me this – these Twelve, are they among us? Or are they truly gods? As far as I’m concerned, this is another game I’m being asked to play. [She means to turn off the feed, but she misses the button and speaks again.] I should be grateful Clover isn’t here. She wouldn’t be able to stand a fourth game like this… [And then, whoops, still recording. One more smile before she turns the feed off for real this time.]

"Zodionlogs" Third-Person Prose Entry:

The first reaction Alice had when she woke up in a foreign room was to panic. Not again, she thought to herself, but there’s no locks, no doors, and it seems the exit is right there. Still, waking up in a new location is enough to put her on edge. At least she’s not stranded in the middle of the Nevada Desert, praying that someone will come by to pick her up because her car broke down, though such thoughts were easily broken when she felt a pain on her hip bone. Peeking up from her skirt was a tattoo, and she pulled her skirt down just a little to see the Virgo tattoo on her skin. This wasn’t funny at all.

Her first thought is to think back to if she drank anything funny, anything that would cause her to go out and get a tattoo like this, but she can’t think of a time. At least, not anything that would be on Rhizome-9. That base was built for them to live somewhat comfortably in for a short amount of time. Though there was that lounge. Still, she doesn’t recall drinking. Knowing that this is a defeated line of thought, she starts to look around. The first thing was up at the ceiling. Well, there was all twelve zodiacs, and that was making the tattoo placed on her that much more sense. This probably wasn’t someone’s elaborate idea of a prank, and if it was, she knew for sure their asses would be put in jail. But that’s assuming she’s even in 2029. Hell, she could still be in 2074. Really, this was going much too far for an elaborate joke.

This must be a game… it has to be a game. And that’s when she notices the podium. Of course, she almost instantaneously knew that it must hold some sort of information. Why would it be there, practically pleading for her to open the box on top of it otherwise? Well, she had better get on with it. Opening the box, she sees the letter. Yes, that’s exactly what she needed. At least, that’s what she thought to herself when she saw the words on the page before reading them.

And reading such words only caused her face to turn a slight shade of red in anger, looking around for anyone to just yell at. They want her mathematical skills to save their galaxy? Cute, just how cute! This is an outrage, is what it is. She’s already been kidnapped once and sent into the future for such skills. What do these ‘Twelve’ want from her now? Are there more bombs planted? Are there other 25 digit numbers that must be decoded?

No, Alice, calm down and think rationally. With a deep breath, she’s calm once more as she folds up the letter and places it in her coat pocket. After that, she notices the device. It’s a little old, but it’s familiar to her. And she can definitely appreciate that it’s not some bracelet that will stab needles into her and fill her with anesthetics and poison. Still, now she needs to know where she is. ‘Zodion’ is not enough for her, and almost has her wondering if she has been kidnapped by some organization. Friend or foe, she doesn’t know yet. She’ll have to figure that out on her own. After all, the path seems to lead to a city. Perhaps there is where she will find her answers, and it’s not as if anyone would turn a beautiful woman like her down when she asks a few questions.
